I bought this vacuum from Target a few weeks ago and have been pretty happy with it so far. Living in a townhouse with lots of stairs and limited storage, this is the perfect size & weight for keeping three floors of wall to wall carpeting looking fresh and clean. Most of the cons have been mentioned in previous reviews: the small canister requires frequent emptying, it's a bit messy to empty, and it tips over kind of easily when using the hose and attachments. Still, for my particular needs, this is a great little vacuum.

There's just one nagging design problem that really holds this vacuum back, which is especially irritating since it's probably an easy fix.

The top part of the handle connects very securely to the vacuum body with a locking pin & nut. In contrast, the entire handle & body simply slide into a not very deep slot in the base. There's no pin, no discernible locking mechanism, not even a "click" to indicate that you've inserted the handle far enough. When the base loses full contact with the handle, as happens pretty much every time I pull the vacuum backwards, the brush stops spinning. Worse, the base falls off almost every time the vacuum is picked up. NOTE: if you're like me, you may not have noticed right away that the manual says to carry the vacuum by the handle on top of the CANISTER, and not handle of the vacuum. Still, that doesn't stop the base from falling off.

I've managed to maintain my sanity by moving forward and pushing the vacuum in front of me as much as possible, but still would rather see this problem fixed by Shark.
